Happy Valentine’s Day! Hopefully by now you’re ready for the big day…ordered the flowers, made dinner reservations, picked out a card and possibly even a gift too. However, are you really ready?? In our latest blog post, we promised to help you Get Your Sexy Back!
In honor of the month of love, we want to also ensure your moods and inclinations are up to par. You may be wondering how love ties into our healthy heart series. Actually, testosterone has a lot in common with a healthy heart and a healthy sex drive.
For example, you probably didn't know that low testosterone levels are also associated with diabetes, heart failure, obesity and osteoporosis. While love is in the air, we want to show you how to prevent heart disease naturally while still maintaining your sex drive. If you don’t feel “in the mood” this Valentine’s Day, we promise you’ll be singing a different tune next year.
How does low testosterone affect your heart?
One symptom of low testosterone is loss of muscle mass, strength and tone, which people often associate with having six-pack abs, or strong biceps and calves. However, what we tend to overlook is that our heart is a muscle too.
Maintaining healthy levels of testosterone is crucial to a healthy heart. As men age, not only do they lose the beneficial effects of testosterone such as drive, mental sharpness and libido, but they also lose the protective effect that testosterone has on the heart. Studies have shown that low testosterone levels are associated with coronary artery disease in male patients with angina.
