Due to a year of chronic illnesses his wife had been facing, Dr. Ellsworth became dedicated to helping her find the cause of her underlying issues. Subsequently, his extensive research led him to the study and practice of the natural treatment of allergies, as well as the balancing of the thyroidadrenal and sex hormones.

Following his graduation from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine with Honors in 1986, he completed his Family Medicine Residency at Richland Memorial Hospital in 1989. He went on to join the United States Air Force, serving as a Medical Officer in Tinker, Oklahoma, encouraging and promoting community health education to the officers on the base. Once his tour of duty was complete four years later, he chose to continue in his role as an educator and joined the teaching faculty in the Saints Family Medicine Residency in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1993.

In 1994, Dr. Ellsworth was presented with an opportunity to join the Central Asian Free Exchange in Andijon, Uzbekistan. Because it had always been a desire of Dr. Ellsworth and his wife to work with a community that desperately needed education in areas such as healthcare, it was an experience that neither he nor his wife could pass up. In his role as Medical Director of the Humanitarian Relief and Development, he developed the first school health program for the country which has over 25 million inhabitants,a program that is still in place today. Additionally, he spearheaded critical initiatives such as an anemic awareness program for pregnant women and lectured on a wide array of health issues to the community.

“…Dr. Ellsworth dedicates himself to helping our guests gain and maintain health and wellness naturally.”

After achieving his own personal and professional goals in Andijon, Dr. Ellsworth and his family returned to his home state of Texas, having been gone for eight years. It was around this time that his wife began experiencing a host of illnesses. Despite treatment with antibiotics, she was unable to overcome her sickness. Not finding the answers to his wife's
health issues in traditional medicine, Dr. Ellsworth researched natural approaches that some other physicians were using with their patients. He began by reading The Yeast Connection, and continued on with his studies of thyroid disorders and hormonal imbalances, both of which he found could be treated naturally, without antibiotics. He discovered that many of the symptoms that were associated with such disorders were also symptoms that his wife was experiencing!

His research led him to attend a symposium held by the Hotze Health & Wellness Center. There, he met Dr. David Sheridan who further discussed with him the Center's method of treatment. Through his studies, he had developed a keen interest and belief in the treatment methodology. Shortly thereafter, in 2003, Dr. Ellsworth joined our staff at the Hotze Health & Wellness Center. With our team of physicians and staff, Dr. Ellsworth dedicates himself to helping our guests gain and maintain health and wellness naturally.
