“I just could not understand why I was not the man that I used to be. I had just figured I was getting older and that was that…I arrived at the Hotze Wellness Center weighing in at a hefty 250 pounds…I [now] weigh 188 pounds…My mental capacity has increased at least three-fold and my focus and general outlook on life is now great!”
My story begins on an early August morning in 2005. I was dragging around the house trying to get ready for work when I heard some doctor talking on the television. He was talking about “female” things and things that my wife had been complaining about. I quickly yelled to my wife, “Hey Honey, this guy is talking about some of the things you’ve been complaining about”. The guy was Dr. Steven Hotze.
The next day my wife and I went to Fort Worth and bought the book. She read it in the book store while I milled around looking at different books. When we got in the car, all she could talk about was how a lot of the medical issues mentioned in the book were problems she had or was currently experiencing. After we got home I read the section in the book about men. After reading the section, all I could say was WOW! The symptoms of low testosterone such as low libido, fatigue, indecisiveness, decreased mental sharpness, practically every symptom listed in the book, I had.
My wife and I decided to call the Hotze Health and Wellness Center. We will have been married twenty years on Valentine’s Day 2006, and we decided this would be the best twenty-year anniversary gift we could give one another: the gift of health. We were given an appointment date on August 22, 2005.
This is where my story gets good. I had been feeling tired and listless for probably about two years and did not really understand why. I am an auto dealer by trade, and my job required me to be mentally sharp and upbeat all of the time. I just could not understand why I was not the man that I used to be. I had just figured I was getting older and that was that. I was, however, tired of feeling this way and was willing to try anything to get my old life back. I arrived at the Hotze Wellness Center weighing in at a hefty 250 pounds. That was in August, and as I write this in February, I weigh 188 pounds with 7% body fat. I work out with weights three times a week and do strenuous cardio at least three other times a week. Did I mention that I am forty four years old?
The bio-identical hormone therapy has been a life saver. From the first moment that I was given the hormones, I felt better. They gave me the energy and the mental focus to begin a lifestyle change that includes both diet and exercise. My mental capacity has increased at least three-fold and my focus and general outlook on life is now great. I believe that even better things are in store for the future. I used to get up at 7:30 a.m. still tired and dreading the day. Now I get up at 5:00 a.m. optimistically looking forward to what I can accomplish during the day. My relationship with my wife and family (I have two children, ages 14 and 11) has never been better. I used to come home from work at about 7:00 p.m., eat supper, then watch T.V. (while in bed) until about 11:00 p.m. and go to sleep. This was totally my habit day after day. I never ever thought about exercising or anything healthy at all. My diet was horrible. To think about where I was not even half a year ago and where I am now is truly amazing. People that have not seen me in a while are blown away.
The great part is that I believe that I have just touched the tip of the iceberg. I believe that with continued bio-identical hormone therapy, along with diet and exercise, I can achieve even greater health. I really do feel like I did when I was in my 20’s. This is no lie. I think that there is nothing in my life that I have done that has benefited me as much as the Hotze Health & Wellness Center. I would urge anyone that does not feel as well as they did when they were in their 20’s should give Hotze Health and Wellness a try. It is almost like I have discovered the “Fountain of Youth”. By doing this I now look to the future with optimism. I can truly say I have gotten my life back!
