Treating Your Allergies Without Over the Counter Medications

Allergies wreak havoc on how you’re feeling, from your sinuses to your eyes, your breathing, your energy levels, and your physical wellness as a whole. Dealing with allergies when you are pregnant or trying to avoid medications for other health reasons can be tricky, especially as you may not know where to start. Some medications provide almost instant relief, but the side effects are sometimes worse than the allergies themselves, or simply not worth the risk. Rather than taking over-the-counter medications or just suffering, trust in the efficacy of our tried and true natural allergy treatments.

Different Options in Natural Allergy Relief

Many over-the-counter allergy medications simply act to mask the symptoms of your allergies. This may make your days more bearable, but it certainly doesn’t solve the problem in the long term. In the effort to avoid medication, some people avoid treatment altogether, suffering from the allergies or working hard to avoid the allergy triggers by staying inside or away from what ails them.

Thankfully, real solutions exist to get to the root of your allergy problems. At Hotze Health & Wellness Center, we offer allergen desensitization through sublingual allergy drops which are applied under the tongue. Popular in Europe, allergy drops safely and effectively desensitize you to the allergens that are causing your reactions. The World Health Organization recognizes this form of treatment as a suitable alternative to allergy injections. With few to no significant side effects, sublingual allergy drops offer a great solution for many kinds of allergies.

Benefits of Sublingual Allergy Drops

Our sublingual allergy drops applied under the tongue help to desensitize you to the triggers causing your allergies rather than just masking your symptoms. This treatment offers many benefits over long-term use.

  • Effective for a wide array of allergens, including cat dander, dust mites, grass, ragweed, and tree pollens
  • Potentially helpful for mild atopic dermatitis (eczema) in children
  • More affordable than allergy shots
  • Added convenience in being able to take drops at home rather than at the clinic
  • Less medication is required after drop treatments begin
  • Improved health and relief from allergies
  • Few to no adverse reactions

I have a 19 year old son with allergies that starts in sept – April. When he was 6, we lived in Houston and dr Hotze put him on allergy drops. It helped a lot!! We live in the Dallas area now ……. can he still get drops from the hotze clinic without visiting Houston area?

    Thank you,

    Susie Lohoefer

      Dear Susie,

Good afternoon! If he has not seen one of our doctors since he was a child, then yes, he would need to come back in to see a doctor in order to get re-established on our program. After that initial comprehensive visit, all of his follow up appointments can be done via phone and the allergy drops could be mailed to him.

If you would like to get him back on our program, please call one of our wellness consultants at 281-698-8698 and they can help you. Thank you for your question.
