Today we are exposed to more toxins than our ancestors ever were. We have pesticides, air pollution, and chemicals in our food, water and beauty and cleaning products. Alpha Lipoic Acid, also known as ALA, is a versatile water and fat soluble metabolic antioxidant. It is a potent free radical scavenger and supports the body throughout its natural detoxification processes. It helps to detoxify the liver, assist other antioxidants during detoxification, and slow the aging process.
ALA is different from vitamins and minerals because our bodies manufacture it throughout our lives. As children, our liver and every one of our cells produce large quantities of ALA. Hi I was diagnosed May 2017 with autoimmune hepatitis, I am now currently taking azathioprine 50mg and prednisone 5mg. I am wondering if I can take this supplement in conjunction with my current meds? I am also taking the following supplements: calcium, vitaminE, prenatals, glocusomin. Please reply I plan on asking my doctor before taking any other stuff at all. Thank you
