No Dessert, Until You Finish Your Statins!

All your troubles are over! The good news is that there is no need to look further than your medicine cabinet for a drug that can bring home the bacon and fry it up in a pan! What a relief!
That’s right! It’s everyone’s favorite blockbuster drug: Lipitor!
According to an article in today’s CBS news, Americans would benefit from Lipitor and Zocor, statin drugs which tens of millions of Americans already have in their medicine cabinet.
The irony is that the one benefit that statin drugs have is that they have a slight anti-inflammatory effect, which can easily be obtained and increased by more natural means.
And of course, the article doesn’t mention the countless number of statin drug side effects that make the small benefit null. They don’t mention that you might suffer from global amnesia, muscle weakness, and have an increased risk for cancer. And by the way, isn’t the heart a muscle? So you’re sitting in a wheel chair with ALS and the doctor asks, “But how about that asthma?” Not worth the risk. Oh, and did I tell you that it’s been suggested that we start giving statin drugs to our children?
