Dr. Hotze Addresses the Connection Between High Cholesterol and Hypothyroidism on Great Day Houston
March 20, 2013
HOUSTON (March 19, 2013) – founder and thyroid expert, Dr. Steven Hotze, addressed the connection between high cholesterol and hypothyroidism on Great Day Houston yesterday with Wellness Center patient, Pamela White.
White shared on Monday’s segment that she had struggled with weight gain and also had elevated cholesterol levels. When she presented her symptoms to her physician, the only solution offered to her was the cholesterol-lowering drug, Lipitor.
“Pam had a hysterectomy and was placed on conventional estrogen, which creates thyroid binding globulin that causes hypothyroidism,” said Dr. Hotze. “Functional hypothyroidism was causing her high cholesterol levels – it wasn’t a result of having low levels of Lipitor or Crestor.”
White chose to address her hypothyroidism naturally by supplementing with desiccated thyroid. Since then, she has lost 20 pounds and her cholesterol levels have dropped from 228 to 175. Additionally, she’s able to sleep better and has regained her energy.
