Here are some very helpful tips on fighting fatigue from 6 health experts:

1. Dr. Steven Hotze

I want to shed light on a very common cause of chronic, often debilitating, fatigue that most people aren’t aware of – adrenal fatigue. If you have gone to your doctor and he either told you that he couldn’t find anything wrong, or that you have chronic fatigue syndrome, this is because adrenal fatigue is often misdiagnosed by conventional doctors who deny that it is even real. But I am here to tell you that it is.

Adrenal fatigue occurs when the adrenal glands cannot meet the body’s demands for cortisol. There are many symptoms that are caused by adrenal fatigue, including extreme fatigue, anxiety and panic attacks. Causes of adrenal fatigue are chronic stress, illness, injury, infections such as bronchitis or pneumonia, and lack of sleep. Identifying and treating adrenal fatigue with bioidentical cortisol can help the adrenal glands recover, and drastically improve your energy.

2. Suzanne Somers

When a patient tells their doctor they have no energy, most doctors write a prescription and send them on their way.

-Low thyroid might be the cause.

-Out of whack hormones means lack of sound sleep for 8 hours which will definitely cause fatigue.

-A heavy sugar/carb diet on the downside causes fatigue.

-A fast food diet laden with chemicals and GMO’s jams the liver so the body’s energy is now focused on detoxing the liver.

Satchel Paige, the first black baseball Hall of Famer said:

“If you didn’t know how old you are, how old would you be?”
It’s not how old you are.
It’s how old is your energy.

I’m 68 with the energy of a 25-year-old.

I take no drugs.
I detox daily.
I only eat organic food.
I only use my line of organic skin care, hair care and cosmetics.
I only clean my home with my nontoxic line of household cleaners.
I have HEPA air cleaners in my home.
I sleep 8 hours nightly
I am passionate about my work.
I think positive thoughts.
I have great love in my life.

3. Dr. Julian Whitaker

Dr. Julian Whitaker describes what he has found to cause chronic fatigue:

Low thyroid function: Your metabolic rate is controlled by thyroid hormones, the most important being triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4). Suboptimal levels of thyroid hormones are extremely common, particularly among older women.

Blood test and thyroid replacement drug – If blood tests indicate your thyroid function is low, chances are your doctor will prescribe Synthroid, the most popular thyroid replacement drug, which is a synthetic version of T4. As we get older, we become less efficient at converting T4 into T3—which may explain the age-related rise in hypothyroidism and why Synthroid fails to work in some older patients.

Natural thyroid replacement – I recommend going natural for this chronic fatigue treatment. Natural thyroid (the brand I usually prescribe is Armour) contains T3, T4 and the entire gamut of thyroid hormones. It often perks up energy and alleviates other symptoms of low thyroid function, even when Synthroid has failed to help.

Dietary Changes
Some thyroid patients – including those who do not have celiac disease or gluten intolerance – have reported a reduction in fatigue when they switch to a gluten-free diet, free of wheat and gluten products. Others have reported similar effects by eliminating sugar, or other inflammatory foods from the diet.

Iron
Some thyroid patients experiencing fatigue may be low in iron, in particular, the stored form of iron known as ferritin. It’s worth having ferritin levels checked by your physician, and if they are not optimal, talk to your doctor about supplementing with iron, or adding more iron to your diet through foods. An excess of iron, in particular a hereditary condition known as hemachromatosis, can also be associated with fatigue.

5. Mike Adams, The Health Ranger, Founder of Natural News Website

Mike Adams shares nine pharmaceutical drugs that can cause fatigue:

1. Diuretics
2. Statin Drugs (cholesterol lowering drugs)
3. Blood Pressure Medications
4. Benzodiazepines
5. Proton Pump Inhibitors
6. Antihistamines
7. Antipsychotics
8. Antidepressants
9. Antibiotics

6. Dana Trentini – Hypothyroid Mom, Thyroid Patient Advocate

Shed Your Shades
Your eyes may be more sensitive to the sun, but try taking off your sunglasses and get out in the midday sun. Sunlight on the eyes is a natural way to boost your endocrine system. When I do my daily errands, I try to leave my sunglasses in the car and walk in and out of the buildings so that my eyes get a good dose of unobstructed sunlight. I also put my sunglasses on my head as I walk my dog and let my eyes soak in the sun. I have noticed not only do I have more energy but I sleep better too.

Don’t Give Up
So, if you’re struggling with fatigue, there are many possible causes. Whatever you do, don’t give up until you find the right answer. There is always an underlying cause for every symptom.

Take our symptom checker to find out if hormone decline could be the cause of your fatigue.
