In this context, glucose refers to the fuel your body makes and regulates from food. Your body breaks down many carbohydrates into glucose and can also produce glucose when needed. Then it delivers that fuel through the bloodstream to support brain function. 

When glucose stays stable, your brain can stay alert and responsive.2 Spikes and crashes, however, can leave you foggy, tired, irritable, or distracted. 

A sugary meal may give quick energy, but it often leads to a crash. Skipping meals may also disrupt focus for some people. 

Glucose is not the problem. Poor regulation is. Your brain needs a steady supply, not a roller coaster.

Next, limit or eliminate refined sugar. Sweet drinks, pastries, and processed snacks can create energy spikes and crashes. 

Hydration also matters. Even mild dehydration may leave you feeling tired or mentally dull. Minerals support nerve function and electrolyte balance. 

Movement can help as well. A short walk after meals may support glucose balance and circulation. 

Finally, prioritize sleep. Your brain uses sleep for recovery, memory processing, and repair. Without enough quality sleep, focus can suffer.
